Waking Up in Paris
There's something about a new day that excites me. Each day is a blessing that shouldn't be taken for granted, and the start of a new one inspires feelings of wonder and curiosity to what the day might hold.
"Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning." Ecclesiastes 11:7
This is especially true when waking up on vacation in a foreign land. No obligations, just all the fun in the world to be had. Every outing in Europe was a new adventure. New sights to see and new moments to experience wait around every corner. It's one thing to hear about and see pictures of Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower, and it's another to see it, in all its glory, right there in front of you.
Paris was absolutely stunning, and the flat (or apartment) we found through Airbnb had a cozy, vintage vibe to it, perfect for the nonstop rainy weather that was drowning the city. However it was also on the 7th floor, which meant we had to climb 7 twisting stair cases over and over (and once with suitcases). Let's just say my parents had no problem meeting their 10,000 step goal on their Fitbits.
The night life, being so colorful and lively, was the most memorable aspect of Paris to me. The French really know how to have a good time. I loved people watching and soaking in all the unique cultural characteristics the locals and visitors had.
