Grand Canyon Expedition
Well I did it! I hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day... again! The group started out on the North Rim, and we hiked our way to the South Rim last Saturday.
It's such a challenging and rewarding hike! I love the instant feeling of accomplishment when I pass through the last arch on the South Rim.
Logistics
The Grand Canyon hike is just under 24 miles to get from one side to the other (it's 23.9 miles to be exact).
The North Rim is 8,297 feet elevation.
The South Rim is 6,800 feet elevation.
The group started hiking from the North Rim at 5:15am, and I finished on the South Rim just before 6pm.
There was great weather and great company all weekend long. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I loved being surrounded by family and friends who are close enough to call family. Hiking the Grand Canyon was the best this year.
